Eating out?

If you are staying at The Bolder and prefer to dine out instead of cooking, we are happy to share some of our favourite recommendations.

Just 35–40 minutes from The Bolder, you will find Stavanger - a vibrant coastal city known for its charming streets, cultural attractions and impressive culinary scene. Whether you are looking for fine dining, fresh seafood, relaxed bistro dining or innovative plant-based cuisine, Stavanger offers several excellent options.

One of the city’s highlights is RE-NAA, Norway’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant. Led by Sven Erik Renaa and his team,
R E-NAA offers an intimate seafood-driven tasting menu based on seasonal ingredients from Rogaland and the surrounding coastline.

For a more relaxed Renaa experience, Matbaren is also worth considering. The newly reopened Matbaren brings a warm, bistro-inspired atmosphere to Stavanger, with French influences, Norwegian ingredients and the quality associated with Torill and Sven Erik Renaa. It is a very good option for guests who want excellent food in a more informal setting.

If you love seafood, Fisketorget is another strong recommendation. Their menu is based on the day’s catch, and they also offer beautifully prepared dishes that can be enjoyed on site or brought back to your lodge.

For wine lovers, Hermetikken is a remarkable choice. Run with strong sommelier expertise, the restaurant offers an impressive wine selection and recently earned a Michelin star. Located near Ledaal Park, it combines refined flavours with a beautifully designed space. Reservations are highly recommended.
