THE BOLDER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings for The Bolder Experience. By making a

booking with us you acknowledge that you have read and abide by these terms. These terms

may be updated at any time and will be posted on our website. It is your responsibility to

ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these Terms

and Conditions of booking.

 

BOOKING

You can book the lodges through the ‘Booking’ button or send an email to

stay@thebolder.com

If you wish to stay with us on a weekend, we only accept bookings for 2 nights weekend, i.e.

from Friday to Sunday.

 

Please contact us for a quote for corporate or special events.

 

CANCELLATIONS

• 0% fee: Cancellation or changes made more than 28 days before arrival.

• 50% fee: Cancellation or changes made 28–14 days before arrival.

• 100% fee: Cancellation or changes made less than 14 days before arrival.

 

No refunds apply for early departures.

Refunds may take up to 7 business days.

 

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain appropriate travel insurance to cover

unexpected circumstances that may require cancellation, rescheduling, or early departure, as

our cancellation terms apply in all cases without exception.

 

RESCHEDULING YOUR BOOKING

• You may reschedule your booking once, free of charge, if more than 30 days' notice

is given.

• The new stay must occur within 12 months of the original arrival date.

• Additional date changes will incur an administration fee.

 

PRICES AND PAYMENT

We reserve the right to adjust our prices as a result of increased costs of goods and

services, currency rate fluctuations, increased taxes and charges, or other conditions beyond

our control.

To stay with us our guests need to pay by credit card upon booking. Price is in Norwegian

kroner – NOK. We reserve the right to demand payment in advance. The Bolder will accept

payment by Credit Card via our external booking site supplied by Moder and Stripe. The

Bolder reserves the right to release dates if payment terms are not met.

When making a booking, please ensure that all the details you provide are correct. It is your

responsibility to notify The Bolder if any of your details have changed.

 

GUEST OCCUPANCY

The maximum number of guests in:

Sky Lodge 1 and 2 are 4 persons

Star Lodge 3, 4 and 5 are 2 persons

Grand Lodge are 6 persons

Guest occupancy must not be exceeded, additional charges will apply.

 

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT

Check-in from 15.00, check-out by 11.00

Respecting our dedicated housekeepers, integral members of the The Bolder Team, is

important to us. Kindly adhere to the designated check-out time. Any delays beyond this will

result in extra charges.

 

Detailed directions of how to get to The Bolder and the location of access to your cabin will

be provided 7 days before arrival and repeated on your arrival day by email and sms.

 

CLEANLINESS & DEPARTURE

Guests are expected to leave the cabin in a clean and tidy condition, similar to how it was

found upon arrival. This includes:

Cleaning all used kitchen equipment (e.g., pots, pans, plates, utensils), or placing items in

the dishwasher and starting the cycle before departure.

Disposing of waste in the designated bins.

Ensuring that furniture, décor, and equipment remain in their original places.

Closing all windows and locking the cabin upon departure.

 

MEALS

Our cabins are equipped for self-catering. You can pre order tapas and breakfast and it will

be stored in the fridge and ready for you when you arrive. Must be ordered 48 hours before

arrival.

 

WATER

Tap water is drinkable, it may have a slightly yellow hue due to being sourced from a well;

however, it still tastes fresh and good. Please use water thoughtfully as it is a finite resource.

 

WILDFIRE ALERT

Fires outside including disposable grill are not permitted to prioritize safety, conservation,

and property protection. Enjoy the outdoors through nearby trails and scenic spots or cozy

indoor spaces at our lodge.

 

SMOKING

No smoking allowed in our cabins. and please respect with care outside. To prevent wildfire

risk we kindly request guests to exercise utmost care and responsibility while smoking

outside the cabins.

 

NATURE

The Bolder is nestled within a unique and delicate natural environment, and we kindly

request guests to honor and preserve its beauty. We ask that you refrain from damaging

trees or disturbing natural elements.

 

CHILDREN, EXTRA BEDS & BABY COTS

The Bolder does not provide extra beds, baby cots, or child-specific safety equipment.

Due to the unique architecture of our lodges—including steep staircases, elevated

constructions, natural cliffs, and uneven terrain—the property is not recommended for infants

or small children. Guests are fully responsible for supervising children at all times.

 

PETS

We love animals, but pets are unfortunately not allowed in our lodges.

 

NOISE, PARTIES & QUIET HOURS

To protect the tranquility of the natural surroundings and ensure a peaceful experience for all

guests:

Parties, events, or loud gatherings are not permitted in or around the lodges.

Quiet hours apply from 23:00 to 07:00. During this time, guests are expected to keep noise to

a minimum both indoors and outdoors.

 

Please be considerate of other guests and the serene environment that defines The Bolder

experience.

 

Failure to comply may result in additional charges or, in severe cases, removal from the

property.

 

LIABILITY & ACCIDENTS

Guests stay at The Bolder entirely at their own risk. The Bolder Experience is not responsible

or liable for:

Any accidents, injuries, or illnesses occurring during the stay

Injuries resulting from the natural terrain, steep cliffs, walkways, weather conditions, or

architectural features

Damage, loss, or theft of personal belongings

Injuries sustained during hiking, outdoor activities, or while accessing the lodges

Consequences of guests failing to follow safety instructions or behaving negligently

Guests are responsible for their own safety and must exercise caution at all times, especially

in challenging weather and terrain conditions.

We strongly recommend that all guests carry appropriate travel and medical insurance.

 

FORCE MAJEURE

The Bolder Experience assume no responsibility and will not pay any compensation where

the performance of our obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a

result of force majeure. This also applies to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Including, but not limited to, floods, earthquakes, extreme adverse conditions, natural

disasters, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, frozen pipes or other

utility services, construction machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building

structures.

 

No refunds can be issued due to a power outage or Wi-Fi disruption during your stay, and we

apologize for any inconvenience caused. Wi-Fi is provided by Star Link.

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES / DAMAGE

Guests must take care to look after the property, furnishings and surroundings. Any faults,

damages or breakages must be reported to the owners. On departure the property must be

left in a clean and tidy state. The Bolder reserves the right to charge guests for the following,

but not restricted to, all damages and breakages inside the cabin and on the property, lost

keys, missing items, extra cleaning and unpaid expenses. An amount equal to the repair or

replacement cost for the damaged goods will be automatically charged to the credit card

provided as security for the booking following at least one attempt to contact the credit card

holder.

 

If any items are missing from The Bolder after your departure, the cost of replacement will be

automatically charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking following at least

one attempt to contact the credit card holder.

You must not alter, move or rearrange any furniture, fixtures or fittings inside or outside.

 

ACCESS & PARKING

You can drive all the way to the cabin and unload your car. Park your car on designated

parkingarea 100 m from the cabins. Caravans, tents and campers are not permitted on the

property.

 

COMMERCIAL POLICY

Commercial offerings can be arranged via email and additional fees apply. Commercial

photoshoots and filming at The Bolder are prohibited unless prior written approval has been

arranged.

 

THIRD-PARTY ACTIVITIES (FJORD SAFARIS & EXPERIENCES)

The Bolder Experience may assist guests with booking selected third-party activities,

including but not limited to fjord safaris. These activities are operated and delivered by

external providers, and The Bolder Experience acts solely as an intermediary.

 

The activity provider is responsible for:

Execution of the activity

Safety procedures and equipment

Qualified personnel

Weather assessments and operational decisions

All third-party activities are subject to the provider’s own terms, conditions, safety

requirements, and cancellation policies, which apply independently of The Bolder’s

accommodation terms.

 

Payment

Payment for third-party activities may be collected by The Bolder Experience on behalf of the

activity provider. Contractual responsibility for the activity remains with the provider at all

times.

Cancellations & Weather

Cancellations, rescheduling, or refunds for third-party activities are handled exclusively in

accordance with the activity provider’s cancellation policy.

In the event of unsafe or unsuitable weather conditions, the activity may be cancelled or

rescheduled by the provider. The Bolder Experience cannot override or guarantee outcomes

outside the provider’s policy.

The Bolder’s accommodation cancellation terms do not apply to third-party activities.

 

Liability

Guests participate in third-party activities at their own risk and must follow all safety

instructions provided by the activity operator.

The Bolder Experience is not liable for:

Accidents, injuries, or illness occurring during third-party activities

Weather-related cancellations or changes

Operational decisions made by the activity provider

Guests are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate travel and activity insurance.

 

Personal Data

Personal data required to facilitate third-party activities may be shared with the activity

provider solely for the purpose of delivering the booked service, in accordance with

applicable data protection legislation (GDPR).
